About the Coin

The Capped Bust Right (Heraldic Eagle reverse) half eagle was struck from 1798 through 1807 when the Capped Bust Left design was introduced.

Heraldic Eagle reverses exist with dates of 1795 and 1797 but are assumed to have been struck in 1798 using old dies.
